Details...
The Long Awaited follow-up to 1996's Fairytales, Perfect represents the culmination of 5 years of heart-felt songwriting, soul-searching and experimentation, resulting in an album of songs that are rhythmically and conceptually diverse, yet contain all of the elements that make The Last Dance both immediately recognizable and completely unforgettable. From the soaring passion and energy of 1995's Tragedy EP to the subtle introspection of Fairytales, and on to the Electronica inspired dance-rhythms and remixes of the Staring At The Sky EP(1998), Perfect is The Last Dance's boldest statement yet, and one that is sure to bring this already critically acclaimed indie band the wider recognition and accolades it has worked so hard to achieve and most assuredly deserves.

The Original concept of Perfect began in 1999. Throughout the last 2 years The Last Dance has expanded on that idea, introducing new a fresh approaches to song writing, producing, and recording. The end result, officially finished in the studio in June 2001, is what the world will see as The Last Dance's Perfect. Perfect contains 10 songs and 2 bonus tracks written, arranged, produced and recorded by The Last Dance. They run the musical gamut from intense and aggressive high energy rock songs like Parade to club and DJ ready dance numbers like Perfect and Regret, the mesmerizing first single. To ensure an album that is well paced and dynamic, there are more subtle moments such as the emotional ballad Without Words and the sorrowful, mid-tempo groove of The Haunting &Winter are catchy, radio-friendly songs that could easily find a place on a commercial stations' playlist.

A highlight of this album is a remake if TLD's 1996 Fairytale entitled Fairytale the Storm. Fairytale the Storm features Kelly Garrett on vocals singing in duet fashion with TLD vocalist Jeff Diehm. The modernized rhythms of Fairytale the Storm have already made it a club favorite. Overall, soaring, guitars, intense rhythms, passionate vocals and powerful keyboards combine with intelligent, thought provoking and often touching lyrics that cover the full spectrum of human feeling to continuing a longstanding tradition of excellence that has characterized the band since it's early days. Perfect wonderfully captures The Last Dance's every essence from their gothic roots to commercial modern rock.
